Easiest parking for most visitors
For a longer visit downtown, West Chester Borough’s two municipal garages are usually the simplest options. Both are open 24 hours a day and are cashless.

Regular garage rates are currently $1.50 for the first hour, increasing incrementally to a maximum of $9 for stays of 7 to 24 hours. Special-event pricing may sometimes apply.
Street parking and surface lots
West Chester also operates metered street spaces and several municipal surface lots. On-street parking has a 3-hour limit, so a garage or surface lot is generally a better choice if you expect to stay downtown longer. Most Borough lots accept payment through the ParkMobile app.
Current on-street and surface-lot meter rates are generally $1.50 per hour. Always check the posted signs because individual lots and spaces can have different rules.
When parking is enforced
Current Borough enforcement hours for street meters and municipal lots are:
- Monday-Wednesday: 8:00 AM-10:00 PM
- Thursday-Friday: 8:00 AM-midnight
- Saturday: 5:00 PM-midnight
- Sunday: no enforcement
Some lots have separately leased areas or different restrictions, so posted signage takes precedence.
Quick tip
If you are unfamiliar with downtown or attending an event, start with one of the two garages rather than circling for a meter. For a short stop of three hours or less, on-street parking may be more convenient.
